Amma Asante x Tracy Kiryango

A Way of Life (2004) x Colour Blind (2017)

We were delighted to be joined by Amma Asante and Tracy Kiryango at The Phoenix Cinema for our second event on October 28th, 2019. With Amma's debut feature and Tracy 's debut short, we were able to explore what it means to be a Black, female filmmaker in Britain both now and at a time when the UK Film Industry had only afforded distribution to one Black, British, female filmmaker before Amma (Ngozi Onwurah) as well as the themes depicted in each of their works, and what the future holds.
